Struble steps down as B-U football coach

TENNERTON — After spending the last 30 years as a football head coach in Upshur County, including the last four at Buckhannon-Upshur High School, Bill Struble has resigned from his post as head coach of the Buccaneers.

Struble submitted his resignation to the Upshur County Board of Education effective Friday, Jan. 4, with the move to be finalized at the BOE’s upcoming meeting on Tuesday. Prior to his coaching stint with the Bucs, Struble spent 26 years as head coach at West Virginia Wesleyan College, where he became the school’s all-time coaching wins leader.
