BUCKHANNON — As the process begins for Governor Earl Ray Tomblin to appoint a new 26th Judicial Circuit Judge, the circuit will be served by a retired judge from Randolph County.
Senior Status Judge John Henning was appointed by Chief Justice Brent Benjamin and will serve until Tomblin appoints someone, according to Jennifer Bundy, public information officer for the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia.
Retiring Judge Thomas
Keadle will assume senior status today and will serve as a fill-in for his brother-in-law, retiring Judge Donald Cookman in the 22nd Judicial Circuit, according to Bundy. Cookman was appointed by Tomblin to fill the 15th Senatorial District seat vacated by Walt Helmick’s election as Commissioner of Agriculture.
