Airport acquires new fuel truck

BUCKHANNON — “If you are going to be an aggressive airport, you have to have fuel trucks,” said Richard (Dick) Bennett, airport manager at the Upshur County Regional Airport.

Bennett made those remarks as the Upshur County Regional Airport unveiled their new jet fuel truck to the public Thursday morning. The new tanker is a 1997 Ford F-800 that holds up to 3,000 gallons of jet fuel. The previous tanker, in service for almost 10 years, held just 1,000 gallons.

“Having this new tanker is going to be very convenient for us,” Bennett said. “We have jets here now that take up to 600 to 800 gallons of fuel.
