Posted: Tuesday, Feb 26th, 2013

Upshur County Republican Executive Committee chair Patty Adams, left, listens to West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey’s speech at Saturday’s Lincoln Day Dinner.

BUCKHANNON — “We are finally going to institute some real reforms in the state of West Virginia, and I am going to do everything in my power to make you proud,” said West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey. “Because we must, must do better here in the State of West Virginia.”

Morrisey made those remarks to a large crowd Saturday afternoon at the Upshur County Lincoln Day Dinner at the Buckhannon Moose Lodge.

Morrisey recently defeated Darrell McGraw in the November election to become the state’s new attorney general. He is the first Republican attorney general in West Virginia since 1933. The Jefferson County resident took office on Jan. 14.
