GM pulls plug on longtime area business

BUCKHANNON — The doors on Kelley Motors in Buckhannon and Elkins will close for the final time on Friday, bringing to an end a long-standing business in the community.

Owner Marty Kelley confirmed Monday that Kelley Motors would close Friday, March 15 and canceled all future advertising with local newspapers and television stations.

Kelley said the decision was made by General Motors and that she could not comment further.

However, Kelley did say that 26 employees between the two locations would be unemployed after Friday.
