’Cats conclude season with tough MEC loss to Notre Dame College

BUCKHANNON -- West Virginia Wesleyan's season came to a conclusion with a 26-21 setback to Notre Dame College Saturday afternoon at Cebe Ross Field.
The Bobcats never trailed in the game until the Falcons took a 26-21 advantage with 3:39 remaining when Malik Grove found B.J. Baldwin for a 40-yard connection. The two-point conversion attempt failed.

Bucs’ season ends with loss to ’Wolves

HUNTINGTON -- Spring Valley utilized a balanced rushing attack to hand Buckhannon-Upshur a 54-7 setback Friday night in opening round action of the Class AAA playoffs.
The second-seed Timberwolves (10-1) finished with 348 yards on the ground with 14 different ball-carriers accounting for that total.

Bucs’ Trevor Short earns spot on All-Big 10 Conference first team

TENNERTON -- Buckhannon-Upshur's Trevor Short has earned a spot on the All-Big 10 Conference boys soccer first-team squad.
Short, a junior forward/midfielder, led the Bucs with 19 goals this past season.
Teammate Austin Carpenter, a senior, was selected to the second team, while junior Kole Kessler and sophomore Alek Seech earned honorable-mention laurels.

TENNERTON -- Buckhannon-Upshur secured its second Class AAA playoff berth in three years with a 28-17 win over old-rival Elkins Friday night at Freal "Red"Crites Memorial Stadium.

’Cats hold off UC in wild affair, 27-25

BUCKHANNON -- A pair of late defensive stands and a 40-yard field goal by Tyler Fischer helped West Virginia Wesleyan claim a wild 27-25 win over the University of Charleston Saturday at Cebe Ross Field.
The Bobcats are now 3-6 overall and 3-5 in the MEC under first-year coach Del Smith. They will be back in action Saturday at UVa.-Wise
