Post 7 splits doubleheader with St. Marys

TENNERTON -- Buckhannon Post 7 opened their final week of the regular season with a split of a doubleheader with St. Marys Post 79 Sunday, dropping the opener 8-1 and salvaging the afternoon with a 9-8 win in the finale.

TENNERTON -- Spencer CPA captured the second,quarter title in the Buckhannon Country Club's Bob Cupp Memorial Golf Laague last week with a 23-17 triumph over previous week leader High Point Construction.
Spencer CPA finished the quarter with 109 ½ points, while High Point Construction had to settle for a second-place tie with 105.

KINGWOOD -- Buckhannon Post 7 played deep into extra innings to earn an Area V win over Preston Post 56 and complete a regular-season sweep Thursday evening in an 11-10 win.
Preston wiped away an 8-4 Buckhannon lead with a six-run sixth inning, but Post 7 tied the game with a run in both the seventh and eighth innings to gridlock

UC tops WVWC in MEC all-sports race

BRIDGEPORT -- West Virginia Wesleyan College finished a tight runner-up to Charleston in the inaugural Mountain East Conference Commissioner's Cup race.
Charleston wound up with 106.5 points and an all-sports rating of 0.750, with Wesleyan finishing with 105 points and a rating of 0.669.

Splashers’ boys, girls both race past HAYST for win

TENNERTON -- Four individual swimmers and three relay teams went undefeated in the Buckhannon Swim Club Splashers' 315-236 win over the Harrison Area YMCA Swim Team (HAYST).
The Splashers edged HAYST by seven points, 160-153, in girls events and enjoyed a more comfortable 155-83 margin in boys competition. Riley Vincent (8-and-under) and Brooke Newcome (13-14) led the Splashers' girls with three
