WVIAC CHAMPIONS: Lady ‘Cats beat Charleston to claim conference crown

CHARLESTON — The Lady ‘Cats are back on top.

After a brief one-year hiatus, the West Virginia Wesleyan College women’s soccer team will return to the NCAA tournament after winning their fifth WVIAC title in six years with a 1-0 victory over the University of Charleston on Sunday.

Jocelyn Prescott, a senior transfer from Bloomfield (N.J.), scored in the 15th minute, taking a pass from center midfielder Jade Smith and tapping it home for the tournament-winning strike.
