TENNERTON — The Lewis County Minutemaids’ 2-3 zone defense held the Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Buccaneers to a pair of long field-goal droughts in Wednesday’s Big Ten Conference basketball matchup, as Lewis County pulled away for a 46-33 win.
The Lady Bucs converted just one field goal over a span of more than four minutes in the second quarter of Wednesday’s game and went the entire third quarter without a field goal against Lewis County’s tightly-packed zone defense. B-U shot just 17 percent from the field Wednesday on 9-for-54 shooting and converted 43 percent of their free-throw attempts, shooting 12-for-28 from the line.
