Williams’ career day lifts Bobcats past UPJ, 74-69

BUCKHANNON — Kelsey Williams posted career-high totals in points and rebounds and the West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats held the Pitt-Johnstown Mountain Cats scoreless over a decisive six-minute span to open the second half Thursday in a 74-69 win.

Williams scored 28 points on 10-for-17 field-goal shooting and an 8-for-10 shooting effort from the free-throw line and hauled down 16 rebounds, including six offensive boards, to lead the Bobcats to their second straight win. Noah Cottrill and T.J. Thompson added 16 and 14 points, respectively, for Wesleyan, who improved to 7-5 overall and pulled even in the WVIAC at 4-4.
