ATHENS — The Concord Lady Mountain Lions shot 47 percent from the field and used a 12-4 run over a stretch of less than three minutes in the second half Monday to defeat the West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcats, 77-66.
Wesleyan’s Brittany Maxey led all scorers Monday with 22 points and her layup with 9:24 left to play pulled the Lady Bobcats within two points of a tie, at 55-53, during a back-and-forth second half. However, Concord allowed Wesleyan just three field goals over the final nine minutes of play to complete a sweep of the teams’ season series.
