TENNERTON — Grafton’s Lady Bearcats scored the first 23 points of the game Monday evening in a 61-24 win over the Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Buccaneeers.
The Lady Bucs went the whole first half of play without a field goal and trailed Grafton 33-2 at halftime. Monday’s loss marked the second straight defeat for the Lady Bucs, who fell 43-37 at Elkins last Friday.
“We’ve shot the ball poorly the last two games,” B-U head coach Tristen Gray said after Monday’s outing. “Elkins was a rivalry game and they came out and played hard, and we didn’t execute.
“Tonight, we just couldn’t shoot. I didn’t expect that shooting performance either way. We shot the ball poorly and Grafton shot extremely well.”
