WESTON — The Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers stuck to their game plan on the defensive end of the court but still struggled offensively in Wednesday’s Class AAA Region II, Section 2 semifinal loss to the Lewis County Minutemen.
Lewis County won the sectional tournament opener 58-41, defeating the Bucs for the third time this season. B-U employed a 2-3 zone for much of the game Wednesday to hold Lewis County center John Riley, who torched the Bucs for 23 and 35 points in their two regular-season meetings, to just 15 points, but the Bucs shot only 33 percent from the field.
