RAYS swim to third place at SEOWV Championships

CANTON, Ohio — The Randolph Area YMCA Swim Team (RAYS) may not have returned to West Virginia with a fourth straight Southeast Ohio-West Virginia (SEOWV) YMCA league championship, but they did still manage a first-place girls team score and an impressive list of individual awards.

The RAYS earned 17 top-five finishes in individual events, seven zone-qualifying times, three event wins and one high-point award winner at last weekend’s SEOWV Winter Championships. The RAYS defeated their closest competition in girls team scoring by more than 125 points, but with only one male swimmer competing, had to settle for third place in the combined team scoring.
