Johnson, Lofton lead Bucs to close second at Big Ten track meet

TENNERTON — Strong performances in the relays and field events nearly got the job done last Friday, but the Buckhannon-Upshur High School boys track team fell just 10 1/2 points shy of first-place Bridgeport in the Big Ten Conference Track and Field Championships.

Isaac Johnson and Marcus Lofton each won individual golds in the field events, with Johnson winning the shot put with a throw of 46 feet, 10 inches and Lofton placing first in the high jump with a leap of 5-10.
