Mary Katherine Lewis

TENNERTON — Mary Katherine Lewis, 91 of Louisa, Va., passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013, in Charlottesville, Va.. She was born Dec. 10, 1921 in Buckhannon.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Alta Hunt Nixon; her husband, Thurman M. Lewis and her brother, Ray “Nick” Nixon.

She is survived by four sons, William Larry Lewis of Williamsburg, Va.; Karl James Lewis of Orlando, Fla.; Thurman Michael Lewis of Las Cruces, N.M.; Tony A. Lewis of Louisa; three grandchildren, Pat, Jennifer and Laurie; several great-grandchildren and brother, Karl Nixon and wife Ilene of Buckhannon.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Friday, March 15, 2013 at the Tomblyn Whitescarver Funeral Chapel in Buckhannon, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2013 with Rev. Brandon Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery.
