JANE LEW — Sandra Kay Hardman, 68, of 425 Bryan Hardman Rd. in Horner, passed away at 4 a.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2013 in the Crestview Manor Nursing Home in Jane Lew, following an extended illness.
She was born in Parkersburg on Aug. 13, 1944, a daughter of Berlin Eldon Hewitt, who survives in Buckhannon and the late Ellen Lenora Bunner Hewitt, who passed away in 1984.
On July 12, 1987 she married the love of her life, Bryan “Mickey” Hardman, and they enjoyed 25 joyful years of marriage together. He won her young heart with fresh picked flowers and continued to court her with fragrant blooms through her final chapter before traveling to God’s Flower Garden of Promise.
Also surviving are one son, Donald Hoge and wife Jodi of Buckhannon; one daughter, Deborah McCall and husband Rick of Rainelle; five grandchildren: Wes, Allie, Hayden, Ashton, and Kylan; three brothers: Larry Hewitt and wife Patti, Gary Hewitt and wife, Dwanda, and John Hewitt and wife, Bertha, all of Buckhannon; one sister, Juanita Smith and husband, Mike, of Buckhannon; one daughter-in-law, Marcie Hoge of Moundsville; special friend and caregiver, Sandy Bowman; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved Toy Poodle, Coco.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by one son, James Hoge, and one granddaughter, Abby Beth Hoge.
Sandy worked as a shuttle operator, welder and electrician for Badger Coal in Buckhannon, where she retired with several years of service. She was a member of the United Mine Workers District 31 Local 2260, and a devoted member of the Way of Holiness Church in Buckhannon. She treasured her role as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed flower gardening, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Sandy’s request for cremation has been honored and her family invites you to attend a Celebration of Life Service at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 29 2013 at the Way of Holiness Church in Buckhannon with Pastor Jerry Murrell officiating.
