ROANOKE, Va. — John G. Weaver, 63, of Buckhannon, passed away Monday, Oct. 7, 2013 in Roanoke, Va. with his family by his side.
He was born Jan. 17, 1950 in Keyser, to the late Robert T. and Helena M. Weaver of Rawlings, Md. He graduated from Bruce High School in 1968 and was married to his high school sweetheart, Brenda S. Weaver, for 44 years.
John was a member of Laborers’ Local Union 616 out of Cumberland, Md. where he served as field representative for six years. He then worked for the Laborers’ International Union of North America as an International Representative for 19 years before retiring. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda S. Weaver of Buckhannon; son, John R. Weaver and wife, Maria Weaver of Roanoke, Va.; daughter, Amanda J. Williams and husband, Paul H. Williams of Charles Town; granddaughter, Alexandra A. Williams of Charles Town; brother, Robert C. Weaver and wife, Dixie Weaver of Springfield; nephew, Lance Weaver and wife, Marindy Weaver of Burlington; niece, Jeannie Smith of Keyser; and great-nephew, Cole Weaver of Burlington.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013 at New Life Christian Ministries, 5745 Airport Rd. NW, Roanoke, VA 24012 at 2 p.m.
