TENNERTON — Lucille Hyre, 96, formerly of French Creek, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, at Holbrook Nursing Home. She was born June 12, 1917, in Newville, a daughter of the late Frederick Lee and Jessie L. Bright Knicely. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Fred N. Hyre; one sister Gaye Phillips; and one grandson Lee Boyce.
She is survived by one daughter Elaine Boyce and husband Delbert of Buckhannon; two sons: Fred L. Hyre and wife Evelyn of Jacksonville, Fla. and Philip “Butch” Hyre and wife Bonnie of French Creek; four granddaughters: Stephanie Ocheltree of Buckhannon, Suzanne Ocheltree of Buckhannon, Kelli Thomas and husband Jim of Corona, Calif., and Heather Hyre of Jacksonville; two grandsons: Jeff Hyre and wife Kellie of Buckhannon, and Jason Hyre and wife Annette of Rock Cave; two great-granddaughters: Shanon Ocheltree and Savannah Thomas; four great-grandsons: Dalton Hyre, Mason Hyre, Briston Hyre and Luke Hyre; one sister Ruby Siron and husband June of Rock Cave; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hyre was a Methodist by faith.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Jan.18, 2014, at 1 p.m., at the Newville Cemetery with Pastor Keith Francis officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parish House at 68 College Ave., Buckhannon, WV 26201. Online condolences may be extended to the Hyre family at www.heavnerandcutright.com.
