Justice reflects on 15 years on top court

BUCKHANNON — W.Va. Supreme Court Justice Robin Davis points to 15 years of experience, more than 2,500 decisions and several court-led initiatives as reasons to re-elect her to another 12-year term this Nov. 6.

In an interview with The Record Delta on Tuesday, she reflected on memorable cases and initiatives.

Davis is the most senior justice on the court. She was first elected to a four-year unexpired term and then won election in November 2000 to a full 12-year term.

She served as chief justice in 1998, 2002, 2006, 2007 and 2010.

No other justice has been elected to chief justice five times in the last 40 years, according to Davis.

“I think that speaks volumes in regard to my leadership,” she said.
