Carl F. McCourt

TENNERTON — Carl F. McCourt, 89, of Buckhannon, the Glady Fork Community, passed away Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012 at the United Hospital Center in Clarksburg. He was born March 10, 1923 in Webster Springs, son of the late David and Blanche Carpenter McCourt. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Avis Ash McCourt on Dec. 30, 1990 and a brother and sister.

Carl is survived by three sons, Rocky W. McCourt of Elkins; Larry McCourt of North Carolina; Danny McCourt of Glady Fork and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was a coal miner, a Pentecostal by faith and had served with the CCC and U.S. Army.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 at the Tomblyn Whitescarver Funeral Chapel in Buckhannon, where services will begin at 1 p.m. with Rev. Rick Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow in the Upshur County Memorial Park in Tennerton.
