BUCKHANNON — A Buckhannon man who allegedly broke into his mother’s residence was arrested this week by the Buckhannon Police Department.
Jacob Powers, 18, of Buckhannon, allegedly broke into the residence on West Lincoln Street Tuesday and stole a Sentry safe which contained a .38 special handgun, a Taser, heart medicine and some family records and collectible coins, according to the criminal complaint in the Upshur County Magistrate Clerk’s office.
Lt. Doug Loudin arrested Powers for nighttime burglary, a felony.
Powers was arraigned before Magistrate Mike Coffman, who set bond at $10,000.
If convicted, Powers faces one to 10 years in a state correctional facility.
