TENNERTON — Mazie “Jean” Ervin, 91, of Rt. 2, French Creek, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. She was born on Dec. 23, 1920, in Webster County, a daughter of the late Samuel “Tinker” and Nerlie Dever Woods. She was preceded in death by her husband Goff “Dick” Ervin in 1974.
She is survived by two daughters: Shelia Hobbs of French Creek and Stella Keesor of Clayton, N.C.; one son, Richard “Dick” Ervin of French Creek; six grandchildren: Michael Feronti Jr., David Keesor, Robert “Bob” Ervin, Michelle Burnside, Lisa Keesor and Erica Ervin; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by one son, Donald Max Ervin; one daughter, Gloria D. Ervin; five brothers: Minor, Martermur, Morton, Matthew “Max”, and Minter Woods; five sisters: Mona West, Marvel Howes, Mintie “Boots” Browning, Martha “Peggy” Styles and Myra Loudin.
Mrs. Ervin was a Christian by faith and attended the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
The family will receive friends at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, Nov.21, 2012, from noon-1 p.m., the funeral hour, with Pastor Rick Cutright officiating.
