JANE LEW — Wayne L. Hedrick, 58, of Virginia Ave, Jane Lew passed away at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 in the United Hospital Center, Clarksburg following an extended illness.
He was born Oct. 29, 1954 in Harman, a son of the late Otis Pennington and Edith Hedrick.
He is survived by one son, Dustin Hedrick of Jane Lew and two daughters, Vanessa Hedrick of Niles, Ohio and Angela Rieder of Hadley, Pa. Five grandchildren, Trinity, Tanner, Isaac, Maddox and Sprocket. Three brothers, Otis Pennington Jr. of Seneca, Richard Pennington of Belington and Roger Hedrick of East Dailey. Two sisters, Rosalie Thompson of Elkins and Anna Ruth Wynn of Texas. Two step-children Emilee Pickens of Weston and Bradon Riffle of Jane Lew. Caretaker and friend Jareubal Jones of Jane Lew.
He was raised by the late Frank and Edith Shreve. Wayne was preceded in death by an older brother, Thurman Hedrick.
Wayne was an avid hunter and fisherman and was loved by everyone.
Mr. Hedrick was a member of the Grace Baptist Temple and was retired from the Sharpe Hospital with 18 years of service.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines Corp.
Friends and family gathered at the Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service 144 Hackers Creek Road, Jane Lew, Saturday from noon to 1 p.m.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012 from the funeral home with the Reverend Roger Brown assisted by the Reverend Homer Parsons officiating.
At Wayne’s request, he will be cremated and interment will follow in the WV National Cemetery at Grafton with full military honors.
