ROCHESTER, PA. — Holland J. Morris, 89, of Rochester Township, formerly of Vienna, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, in Rochester Manor.
Born Aug. 3, 1923, in Morgantown, a son of the late John and Georgianne Auston Morris, he was a retired employee of the former J&L Steel, Aliquippa.
He was Methodist by faith and was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Marine.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon M. and John Dilts, Clarksville, Pa. and Tina L. and Daniel Nicgorski, Rochester Twp.; five sons and three daughters-in-law, John R. and Rose Morris, Monaca; David R. Morris, Beaver Falls; Hubert E. and Barb Morris, Portersville, Pa.; Gary W. Morris, Glen Easton, and Daryl G. and Kathy Morris, Rochester Twp.; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, David Morris, of West Virginia; three sisters, Ruth Morrison, Parkersburg; Rosie Bennett, Warren, Ohio and Gene Osborne, Buckhannon, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Luetta Lorraine Morris; a granddaughter, Jenny Morris; a grandson, Johnny Ray Morris and three brothers, Bob, Richard and Paul Morris.
There is no visitation.
Friends are invited to a memorial service Saturday, Nov. 24, at noon in the Zion United Methodist Church, Route 68, Daugherty Township. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Don Dotterer.
