BUCKHANNON — A Buckhannon man who allegedly entered a neighbor’s house at Hinkle Drive was arrested for nighttime burglary.
Casey Allen Ball, 21, allegedly gained entry to the apartment Friday through an unlocked rear door and rummaged through the hall closet before turning a stairwell light off and climbing the stairs, according to the criminal complaint in the Upshur County Magistrate Clerk’s office.
It was the light going off that alerted the homeowner to the intruder’s presence, according to the complaint. The woman then saw a shadowy figure headed towards her 3-year-old’s room and said, “What the hell, who’s there?”
That startled the intruder, who ran downstairs followed by the homeowner, who found a weapon and locked all of the doors.
