BUCKHANNON — The West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcats fell in a back-and-forth affair to their final non-conference opponent of the 2012-13 season, dropping to 1-3 with a 90-79 loss to Fayetteville State (N.C.)
Fayetteville State surged out of the tip-off and led by as many as 19 points early in the first half, at 27-8. Wesleyan trailed 41-34 at halftime, but opened the second half with a 10-0 run to take a brief 44-41 advantage.
The visiting Lady Broncos closed out a nip-and-tuck second half on a 10-4 run though, shooting 8-for-10 from the free-throw line down the stretch after shooting only 64.5 percent from the line on the afternoon.
