Woman arrested for assaulting a police officer, trespassing

BUCKHANNON — A Buckhannon woman remained in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail Tuesday after an incident at a local hotel the day before.

Beverly Dawn Beckner, 36, of Buckhannon, was arrested for assault on a police officer, battery on a police officer, battery, obstructing an officer and trespassing.

Cpl. Rocky Hebb with the Upshur County Sheriff’s Department and Patrolman First Class William Courtney with the Buckhannon Police Department responded to the Bicentennial Inn in Buckhannon in reference to Beckner being in the building when she was not supposed to be there, according to the criminal complaint.
