Mat Bucs sweep Big Ten rivals in tri-meet

ELKINS — The Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneer wrestling team swept a triangular meet against Big Ten Conference and Region III rivals Wednesday evening, defeating the host Elkins Tigers 77-6 and the Lewis County Minutemen 51-30.

Two B-U wrestlers remained undefeated for the season at the meet, as freshman Brandon Tenney improved to 4-0 at 106 pounds and junior Daniel Nolte upped his 220-pound record to 4-0. Tenney and Nolte both won their pair of matches Wednesday by pin fall and have pinned all four of their opponents during the first week of the regular season.
