TENNERTON — A battle between imposing post players and stingy defenses extended into overtime Saturday, where the visiting Hampshire Trojans defeated the Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers, 54-52.
B-U forward Dalton Westfall recorded a double-double with a game-high 22 points and 13 rebounds, leading the Bucs back from an 11-point second-half deficit. However, Hampshire center Logan Hill answered with 19 points of his own, including a go-ahead bucket with 2:40 left in the overtime period to give the Trojans a 49-47 lead.
Hampshire never trailed in the overtime period and led by as many as six points, at 53-47, with 10 seconds left in the extra frame.
