TENNERTON — James Thurman Riley, 71, of Big Run Road, Walkersville, passed away Monday, Dec. 17, 2012 at his home. He was born on February 25, 1941 in Upshur County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Audra Pritt Riley and two brothers, Wilbert Earl and Asa John Riley.
James is survived by his wife, Linda Ann Nappier Riley, who he married on June 16, 2001; special nieces, Daisy Riley of Genoa, and Dorothy Riley of Burnsville; two sisters, Sharon Veith of Rock Cave; Retha Cogar of Ireland; three brothers, Delmas Riley, Billy Ray Riley both of Ireland; Floyd Riley of Gilmer County and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was a timber cutter and roofer and loved being outdoors and helping anyone when asked. James will be missed by his wife, family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 at the Tomblyn Whitescarver Funeral Chapel in Buckhannon, where services will begin at 1 p.m. with Rev. Wease Day officiating. Burial will follow in the McCutchan Chapel Cemetery.
