­­Wilson sets B-U record in swim Bucs’ win

BUCKHANNON — The Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneer swim team swept a home double-dual meet and Wednesday broke a school record in the process.

Steven Wilson swam a first-place time of 58.98 in the boys 100 backstroke, breaking the B-U school record and distancing himself by 2.21 seconds from his closest competition in the event. Wilson and Lady Bucs Patricia Loughney and Maggie Miller all went undefeated in both individual and relay events Wednesday, as the B-U swim teams defeated Lincoln and Philip Barbour in head-to-head scoring.

The B-U boys defeated Philip Barbour 46-42 and Lincoln by a 66-18 margin. The Lady Bucs outscored Philip Barbour and Lincoln by 70-15 and 75-17 landslides, respectively.
