TENNERTON — Missed opportunities to pad a second-half lead came back to cost the Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Buccaneers Wednesday in a 39-36 loss to the Philip Barbour Lady Colts.
B-U led Wednesday’s Big Ten Conference basketball matchup by as many as six points early in the third quarter, but suffered a field-goal drought of 4:33 in the third quarter that allowed the visiting Lady Colts to climb back into the game. The Lady Bucs entered the fourth quarter with a three-point lead, but Philip Barbour outscored B-U by a 15-9 spread over the final eight minutes.
