BUCKHANNON — In just a few days, two new county officials will assume their offices. Sheriff David Coffman and county commissioner Troy A. “Buddy” Brady III were swore-in along with several returning officials at a ceremony with Judge Thomas Keadle last week.
Coffman, who served 32 years in law enforcement before retiring from the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department, said he is ready to get started in his new role.
“I have looked forward to this day since Nov. 6 [Election Day],” he said. “I can’t wait to get to work on Jan. 1.”
Coffman will take over from out-going sheriff Virgil Miller, who has served two consecutive terms and was ineligible to run for a third straight term under state code.
