Couple arrested on sex charges

BUCKHANNON — An Upshur County couple has been arrested after the wife allegedly took pictures of her husband sexually assaulting a female juvenile at a local hotel on New Year’s Eve, according to a press release from the Buckhannon Police Department.

Police arrested Timothy Sargent, 22, for sexual assault in the second degree and his wife, Rachel Sargent, 42, for use of a minor in filming sexually explicit conduct.

The release says the juvenile was provided alcohol and had passed out.

The husband has been arraigned on a $100,000 bond and the wife on a $75,000 bond, according to the release. Investigator Mark Stewart is handling the case.
