INSTITUTE — The West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats saw two streaks — one good and one bad — come to an end Monday in a WVIAC basketball game against the host West Virginia State Yellow Jackets.
Wesleyan forward Kelsey Williams scored a game-high 23 points, but missed double digits in rebounds, as his streak of seven straight double-doubles came to an end. However, more importantly for the Bobcats, coach Patrick Beilein’s team snapped a two-game losing streak with a 70-59 win.
Wesleyan jumped back above the .500 mark on the season with the victory, improving to 6-5 overall, and pulled back within a game of .500 in WVIAC play, at 3-4. Wesleyan guards Noah Cottrill and Chris Dewberry joined Williams in double figures with 13 and 11 points, respectively, on a night when the Bobcats shot 46 percent from the field.
