Superstorm Sandy ‘slammed’ game farm in October

BUCKHANNON — Superstorm Sandy may have wreaked havoc on the West Virginia Wildlife Center, but it didn’t dampen the vision of what the center hopes to achieve one day.

Gene Thorn, wildlife biologist in charge of the center, told Buckhannon Rotary Club members the damage incurred from Super Storm Sandy will take months to repair.

“We got slammed out there,” he said Tuesday. “We are in the middle of dealing with that right now. Almost all of our pens are damaged. There were trees falling for three days.”
