Fairmont Senior’s second-quarter surge stops Lady Bucs

FAIRMONT — The Fairmont Senior Lady Polar Bears outscored the Buckhannon-Upshur Lady Buccaneers by a 23-2 margin in the second quarter of Friday’s Big Ten Conference matchup, pulling away for a 60-36 win.

Fairmont Senior’s starting frontcourt combined for 36 points and the Lady Polar Bears took advantage of 18 points off their bench, as they improved to 9-2 overall and 7-2 against Big Ten opponents. Kaden Whaley led Fairmont Senior with 14 points, Emily Stoller scored a dozen and Kelsey Morrone followed with 10 points.
