BUCKHANNON — Concerned about how a proposed new housing development would affect them, members of the Upshur County Landlords Association invited the developer to a recent meeting.
Joe Leighton, of Red Clay Development, approached the Upshur County Commission in November about a letter of unqualified support for his project to use tax credits to build affordable housing in the county.
The commission has not yet voted whether or not to supply the letter but has scheduled Leighton to be at the commission meeting at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 24, according to county administrator William Parker.
