Sharp-shooting Lady ‘Cats win second straight

BUCKHANNON — Four West Virginia Wesleyan starters scored in double figures Saturday and the Lady Bobcats maintained an early first-half lead throughout the final 33 minutes of play in a 76-66 win over the Wheeling Jesuit Lady Cardinals.

Wesleyan forward Brittany Maxey scored a game-high 20 points Saturday on 9-for-10 shooting, on an afternoon when the Lady Bobcats shot a stellar 55 percent from the field on a 31-for-56 output. Danesha Richardson followed with 15 points and guards Kerry Conroy and Allie Browne added 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Wesleyan improved to 6-8 overall with the win and pulled within a game of .500 in the WVIAC standings, at 5-6.
