BUCKHANNON — After 28 years of public office, the 26th Judicial Circuit Judge will end his full-time role on the bench Thursday.
In his last act before retiring, Thomas “Tom” Keadle will travel to Charleston to deliver the oath of office to his brother-in-law, Donald H. Cookman, who retired as 22nd Judicial Circuit Judge last week and was appointed to fill the 15th Senatorial District seat vacated by now Commissioner of Agriculture Walt Helmick.
Keadle and his wife, Beverly, are also leaving the community and returning to Romney, where the couple first met and where Keadle began his first career as a West Virginia State Trooper.
