BUCKHANNON — The West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcats slowed down the reigning WVIAC women’s basketball Player of the Year and stifled the Fairmont State Lady Falcon offense Saturday in an 82-62 win.
Fairmont State entered Saturday’s conference matchup ranked second in the WVIAC standings, but Wesleyan held them to just 35 percent field-goal shooting and only a 7 percent rate from 3-point range, where Fairmont State went just 1-for-15. Wesleyan held Kaitlin Snyder, the 2012 WVIAC Player of the Year, to 4-for-19 shooting and 13 points, four points off her season average.
