BUCKHANNON — A man who allegedly cut a woman with an empty beer bottle at the Bobcat Lounge Saturday night was arrested for malicious or unlawful assault, a felony, and battery, a misdemeanor.
Melvin Tyler, 22, of Buckhannon and Clinton, Md., was at the Bobcat Lounge when the victim allegedly threw a glass of water on the defendant, according to the criminal complaint in the Upshur County Magistrate Clerk’s office. Tyler allegedly finished drinking his beer and then struck the victim with the empty beer bottle on the left side of her face, cutting her deeply, according to the file.
The victim fell to the floor and was bleeding profusely, according to the file. After being taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital, the victim had to receive six stitches.
