TENNERTON — Kenneth C. Tenney Sr., 73, of Tallmansville, passed away Feb. 21, 2013 from a courageous battle of cancer. He was born Sept. 10, 1939 in Tallmansville, a son of the late Harold and Estalene Kelley Tenney. He was also preceded in death on November 28, 2005 by his wife, Sandra Jo Kelley Tenney, whom he married on Jan. 31, 1959.
Ken is survived by four children, Carla Orsburn (husband Kenneth); Jeanette White (husband Clifford); Kenneth Tenney Jr. (wife Melissa) all of Tallmansville and Beverly Tenney (companion Jeff Tallman) of Elkins; nine grandchildren, Benjamin (wife Allison); Mathew (wife Libby); Andrew (Tiffany); Sarah Orsburn; William, Victoria, Mikayah Irwin; James Tenney (wife Becky); Ashlea White and nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Keitha Simmons (husband Howard); Erma Henline (husband Philip); Jane Michels (husband Larry); special Aunt Helen Lee; sisters-in-law, Dee Levrar (husband Pete); Connie Simmons (husband Jim); brothers-in-law, Gary Lew Kelley (wife Krystal), Bud Kelley and Joe Nelson Kelley (wife Pauline).
He retired from Moore Business Forms in Buckhannon and had worked for the Upshur County Senior Center driving the senior van. He was one of the original members of the Washington District Volunteer Fire Company in Tallmansville, which he served as a volunteer fireman until he became disabled.
The family would like to thank Mountain Hospice for all their support through his illness and special thanks to Terry Lewis and Kathy Kocher for all their special care of Pappy.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Monday, Feb. 25, 2013 at the Tomblyn Whitescarver Funeral Chapel in Buckhannon, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, with Rev. Bradley Tenney officiating. Burial will follow at the Elbon Cemetery.
