Buckhannon City Administrator Michael Doss outlined the proposed 2013-14 general fund budget to city council members Monday morning. The proposed budget reflects modest changes for the next fiscal year.
Full-time city employees are set to receive a $600 across-the-board yearly increase in compensation in the new budget.
“We have a very good group of people that work for the city,” said Buckhannon Mayor Kenny Davidson. “They have a great work ethic and a great attitude and it is important that we appreciate their efforts. We have a very low turnover rate of city employees. I think we have a good history of hiring the right people for the job, and when you hire the right people, you need to make sure you retain them.”
