BUCKHANNON — An iconic downtown Buckhannon fixture is celebrating its 75th anniversary of business.
Ralston Press Inc., a staple of Buckhannon’s downtown landscape, has been serving the printing needs of Upshur County and the local region since 1938.
Richard “Dick” Ralston Jr. and his wife, Carole, have co-owned the business since 1972. Ralston Press has been under the Ralston name since Dick’s father, the late Richard H. Ralston Sr., purchased it in 1938.
Like any business that has been around for seven decades, Ralston Press has a rich history.
When it was purchased by Dick’s father, the printing shop was merely part of a larger operation — the Buckhannon Record newspaper.
