Tenney family speaks out about Amber Alert and its aftermath

Posted: Thursday, Mar 21st, 2013

BUCKHANNON The family at the center of an Amber Alert issued last week said they never felt they were in danger.

A lot of people are blowing this all out of proportion with their gossip and rumors, Edie Tenney said in an interview Monday evening.

Edie is the wife of Margel Tenney, 57, and mother of Shaina Tenney. The Amber Alert issued last Tuesday claimed Margel had likely kidnapped Shaina and her 7-month-old baby, Grace.

They were found safe after police saw their car driving on I-79 near Weston the next day.

Edie said the incident began when she and Margel were called to the Buckhannon detachment of the West Virginia State Police on Tuesday, March 12.
