BUCKHANNON — A mistake made when this year’s seniors were eighth-graders has caused some headaches for administrators, students and parents.
Bob Wilmoth, principal at Buckhannon-Upshur High School, said that four years ago, the Class of 2013 members who took a developmental reading course were given high school credit by mistake.
“We were made aware of that in their sophomore year, worked with RESA (Regional Education Service Agencies) and [technology coordinator] Glenna Clutter and believed we had that problem solved,” he said.
However, the error remained in the students’ file and was discovered again two months ago.
