Track Lady Bucs dominate Larry Conaway Invitational

WESTON — The Buckhannon-Upshur High School girl’s track team added another win to their 2013 resume, taking gold in 10 events at the Larry Conaway Invitational in Lewis County on Friday.

Senior Emily Godwin won four events — the 200-meter dash (26.76 seconds), 400-meter dash (1 minute, 0.06 seconds), 100-meter hurdles (15.91) and 300-meter hurdles (48.16).

Lauren Cvechko and Mackenzie Leigh each contributed a pair of gold medals to the Lady Buccaneer effort. Cvechko won both the long jump (15 feet, 10 1/4 inches) and high jump (5-2), while Leigh did her damage in the throwing events, taking first in the shot put (38-3) and discus (120-2).
