BUCKHANNON — A jury found a man guilty of leaving a threatening voice mail at the Upshur County Board of Education office referencing the Newtown, Conn. shootings.
Tony Herndon was arrested on Jan. 3 for threat of a terrorist act. He was indicted by the Upshur County Grand Jury for the felony charge later that month.
On Wednesday, senior status Judge John Henning presided over the trial, which lasted about two hours and included only two witnesses — the investigating officer, Lt. Mark Davis of the Upshur County Sheriff’s Department, and Scott Lampinen, superintendent of Upshur County Schools.
