B-U track teams shine at home meet

TENNERTON — The Buckhannon-Usphur High School boys track team racked up 126 points to finish a close second to Lewis County in a home track and field meet Tuesday afternoon.

The event started on a somber note as athletes from the six teams huddled on the turf for a moment of silence to remember those killed and injured in the bombings at the Boston Marathon a day earlier.

After that, though, things were off to the races, with the Buccaneers amassing six first-place finishes on their home rubber.
